Welcome!

This community-led program was created four years ago, in an effort to support the teachers and staff here at Coatesville Area School District. The purpose is to be an extra encouragement to those individuals we adopt as well as inspire the community to be more involved within our schools. We have found that what most teachers/staff members appreciate most throughout the year are the kind notes and words of affirmation throughout the school year. Our mission is to inspire families and community members to step up, get out of their comfort zone, and become an uplifting support to the individuals who shape our kids’ lives.

Money does not need to be spent for you to adopt a teacher!

When you adopt a Coatesville teacher and/or staff member, not only are you sewing into the life of our community but you are positively impacting those who are on the front line every day educating our kids. Whether you have a specific teacher in mind or you want to be matched with a deserving teacher by our team, we can help you through the entire process.

Things to Remember

Once you have submitted your adoption, we will confirm with an email as well as reach out to your teacher for suggestions. Once we hear back from your teacher(s), we will gladly update you.

It is important for you to stay in communication with your adoptee (even if you are anonymous). We ask that you acknowledge your adopted teacher at least once a month (or more often as you like). Whether it’s sending a thoughtful note of encouragement, baked cookies, or some flowers to brighten up their day; knowing you are thinking about them is what is truly appreciated! We suggest you put reminders on your phone if you feel you may forget.  Also remember, that by signing up to adopt, you are committing to support that teacher/staff member throughout the entire 23-24 school year. If you can't commit, please choose do not to adopt this year.  Little notes throughout the year are what OUR teachers really appreciate most.
